Fursonas
I love fursonas and the existence of furry fandom in general. Fursonas are such an accessible way of self-exploration and there's no 'wrong' way to pick one. You can draw from popular culture, or nature, or make something up. Your fursona can be a normal dog, or a big tiddy latex dragon. It's also a fandom that, while it may celebrate commercial IPs, isn't directly based on any of them, so there's no canon to interpret or creator to be disappointed by.
Owned
The 'cling film across the door' prank was non-existent 100 years ago. People in the future will get owned with things that don't exist yet.
Quantum
I expect quantum mechanics is so bonkers because we're looking at it the wrong way. If you assume the solar system is geocentric, the orbits of the planets become complicated loops, sometimes going back on themselves. Once you realise the solar system is heliocentric, the orbits resolve to simple ellipses. I expect one day quantum behaviour will be found to be part of another system through which it appears much simpler.
Dumbass
There aren't enough chaotic dumbass women characters in sitcoms. Who is the female Dave Lister? The female Victor Meldrew, the female Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade? I want more sweary dumbass women who get into scrapes, sometimes involving poo and wee.
Memories
Do you ever wonder what it would be like if you lost all your memories and had to piece together what sort of person you are? From your possessions, your internet bookmarks and chat logs, who recognises you and how friendly they are towards you, etc. What would you be likely to get back, and what would you forget forever because it existed only in your head and you never transcribed it?
Pinball
Pull-back launchers on pinball tables are always superior to button launchers.
What's this page for?
A 'digital garden' is a space where a webmaster (the 'gardener') posts thoughts, build upon them and returns to edit and tend to them. (Here's a more detailed explanation on Maggie Appleton's site.)
I decided to make mine a 'digital laboratory' because I like the idea of cultivating thoughts in petri dishes and seeing what grows. (Plus, I already use the 'garden' analogy for my curated collection of links.)
